This adorable clothesline-inspired card holder is a great way to use your paper scraps and is easy enough to do with your kids. Plus, it’s not just for Valentine’s Day! You can use it for children’s art, birthday cards, Christmas cards, weddings, baby showers, and more!
We’re even giving you some cute patterns that you can print at home to get started. (See download link at the end of this article).
Here’s what you’ll need:
Here’s how to make it:
- Take one of your clothespins and measure it across the top to find out how wide and long it is.
- Cut your paper into strips that are this size. You will need 2 strips for every clothes pin. It’s up to you if you want the fronts and backs to match or if you want a different pattern on each side.
- Paint a thin layer of Mod Podge on one side of your clothespin. Firmly press down a strip of paper on top of the Mod Podge, and paint another thin layer on top the paper. Repeat for the back as soon as the front is dry. (If you used a thin enough coat of Mod Podge, it should only take a few minutes to dry).
- Cut your ribbon to the size desired (about 9 to 12 inches per clothespin plus a little extra for each end is good). Hang your ribbon using a thumbtack, or tie it to something. Clip your clothespins to the ribbon and use them to hold cards, artwork, or whatever you like.
